| In every kitchen of virtually all homes in North America you will find a refrigerator. Without refrigeration, the wine would be warm and we would need to shop for fruits and vegetables everyday. Without a refrigeration, the only way to preserve meat would be to salt it, and cold treats in the summer would be a real luxury The refrigerator is not just a place to keep refrigerator magnets. Now just because it is a necessity, the refrigerator does not have to be an ugly square box. The kitchen refrigerator now comes in so many sizes and with many different designs and options that choosing your own may be a challenge. As in the rest of your home upgrade decisions, keep the big picture if your décor in mind as you decide on specifics of the refrigerator. A compact refrigerator may be wanted as well as the full size, double door, ice dispensing and freezer on the bottom, kitchen refrigerator. With the combination of these kitchen appliances, you can organize your foods and beverages so that everything is convenient. Compact refrigerators are marketed in the popular colors. At present the colors for appliances are white, black and of course, stainless steel silver. These smaller refrigerators come with or without freezers. The ones without are usually referred to as beverage or wine refrigerators. Kitchen appliances are more and more specialized so why not the refrigerator? There are some improvements to refrigerator design that are worth noting. One of my favorites is the deep door or large shelved doors. This feature makes the inner shelve shallower so things do not end up at the back out of reach and you still have the same storage area. Another great improvement is the units with the freezer on the bottom. This makes it so that you can have the most frequent used items, like milk and juice, up at a convenient height (no more stooping over). Of course one of the most popular features on refrigerators is the icemaker and dispenser. And let us not forget the TV built into the door so the cook does not miss the big game or favorite soap.
