Pull out shelves or roll out shelves are one of the best
innovations in kitchen cabinets in years. They make
the back of the lower shelf areas of your kitchen
available for useful. In the past, anything that went to
the back of the bottom shelves was lost until the next
major kitchen clean up. Pull out shelves effectively
doubles your useful kitchen storage because you can
now bring the back of the shelf out to the front when
you desire what is stored there. This is also great for
people that have trouble crouching down. You will be
able to see and reach all your stored items with ease,

This is a kitchen upgrade that allows even renters to
have a custom kitchen to some degree. Pull out
shelves or slide-out shelves are an ideal do-it-yourself
project because all the parts can be purchased pre-cut
and ready to assemble. Also these shelves can be
installed in such a way that they can be simply
removed and the cupboard shelves returned to original
when you move out. The material can be purchased
as a kit or as individual parts. Most kitchen cabinets
are built to standard sizes and the kits will work just
great. However if your kitchen is one that was
constructed with off sized cabinet doors, it will
probably be best to buy the parts and custom build the
slide-outs yourself.

Should you decide to build from scratch, there are a
few items that you will require.
*1 - extension drawer slides
*2 – L mounting brackets
*3 – shelving boards (cut to size)
*4 – framing boards (to make the containment frame
on the shelf)
*5 – spacer material (for fine tuning the fit)
*6 – screws

If you are adding pull out shelves to your kitchen, then
you will probably want to incorporate rotating corner
shelves. There is three quarter round units and three-
eighths round units. Three quarter units spin all the
way around for access or and three-eighths units that
you mount one left and one to the right.

Under the sink is a great place to install a garbage /
recycle center roll out unit. This is also a good place
for a cleaning supply caddy. As you can see I do not
