When choosing your kitchen sink be sure to consider what all
of its functions are. If you have a dishwasher then there
probably will not be many dishes washed and rinsed in the
sink. If you prepare lots of fresh vegetables, you may want a
garbage shredder connected to your kitchen sink.  You
possibly will also want a detachable nozzle on the kitchen
faucet for washing those vegetables. Kitchen sinks come in a
variety of depths and widths also. Some people desire a deep
sink because they soak a lot of stuff while others like a shallow
double sink because that is what is more comfortable for them.

The kitchen backsplash is an item often overlooked by many
people. This again is a personal preference. The standard 2
1/2 inch backsplash is usually less expensive because it is
what the countertop factories are set up for. However if you are
doing a major renovation or building a new kitchen, the cost of
a custom kitchen backsplash is not going to be the breaking
point. If you have a grand, almost commercial grade stainless
steel sink, and then have a low, virtually invisible backsplash,
things will seem out of balance even if you cannot quite identify
why. On the other hand if you have opted for a small, dainty
kitchen basin a large kitchen backsplash will look totally out of
place. So the decision is whether you want the sink and
backsplash to grab attention or just exist virtually unnoticed.

The kitchen faucets deserve your attention as well. Now the
faucets are a lot easier to change later but I doubt that you
wish to have the kitchen renovation project go on forever.
There are a great number of styles to choose from. There are
tall goose necked ones or low profile straight spigot and
everything in between it seems. You may need to visit a few
kitchen and bath stores or scan the choices online to find the
design that is for you. The kitchen faucets are part of the
kitchen design along with the sink, countertop and backsplash.
If these items are chosen with care they can make your kitchen
a statement of your personality and pride. Take some time
and feel good about your choices, they are yours.
